( Halloween 09' )

Halloween came ...... and it was COLD!
But, we still had lots of fun. And more candy than we know
what to do with! Daddy has been eating all of the Mounds ;)

Introducing Cinderella and Prince Charming ..........

Yes, I returned the Incredibles costume, ha! Couldn't let him
be disappointed and he really wanted to be the Prince.

Little Miss Cinderella!

Poor Macey, she was so cold she ended up wearing her jacket
all night. The photos above were the next day.... ssshhhhh!

And, of course - the payoff! Getting to dive into those buckets
of candy!
The favorites were: Goobers or "kid peanuts" as Macey likes
to call them, because she's actually allowed to eat them, Drew
ususally goes for the "Kitty Kats" and the Tootsie Rolls were
definitely a hit =)

We couldn't forget about the glass slippers .............

Hope you had more treats than tricks!

( Busy Week, Pumpkins {more} and Fairy Tales! )

We've had a very busy and super fun week, but the highlight had
to be last night ;)

We're putting the twins to bed, reading books and the night
wouldn't be complete without at least one Cinderella book. As
we're reading, Macey reminds me that she wants to be Cinderella
for Halloween.
She's going to get her wish, she just doesn't know it (haven't given
them the costumes just yet!)
Drew tells Macey he wants to be the prince. (I've already bought
him the Incredibles costume) So, I'm trying to get him excited about
The Incredibles and he LOVES that movie, so it shouldn't be too hard.
He turns to Macey, in the sweetest little voice and says "Macey, I
have to be the prince so you have somebody to dance with".

I think my heart melted...... =)

The rest of the week has been awesome, but nothing could have
topped that!
Saw Mamma Mia with a friend on Wednesday. It was fantastic!

Had a little date night with my husband on Thursday and saw the
movie Couples Retreat. It was pretty good!

Bowling adventure with Aunt Stephanie on Friday and then a little
pumpkin party at Gymboree that afternoon and out to dinner.

Saturday morning the twins and I made these yummy mini pumpkin
breads!

Here's the recipe for you!
3 1/3 Cups flour
2 t Baking Soda
4 Eggs
2/3 Cups Water
2 1/4 Cups Canned Pumpkin (spiced and sweetened)
1 t Cinnamon
1 t Nutmeg
1 1/2 t Salt
3 Cups Sugar
1 Cup Oil (or 1/2 cup oil, 1/2 cup applesauce)
Sift dry ingredients into mixing bowl, mix well. Add remaining
ingredients, mix. Pour batter into 3 loaf pans, greased and
floured. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until done (I start
checking at 45 minutes). Cool slightly in pan and transfer to
wire rack. They are yummy! Enjoy =)

Then we had a little fun decorating our porch pumpkins!
Macey's masterpiece........

These........ now grace the front of our house and invite you in!

Drew's masterpiece.............

Sunday, we had lunch with Grandpa and played in the park with
all of the beautiful leaves!

Here we are jumping into our not-so-big pile of leaves!

And, we still had time to visit Grandma and Grandpa
after that for a few trips around the yard on the tractor!

( More Pumpkins.... )

I'll admit it. I'm a sucker for the pumpkin patch.... farmer's
market, pumpkin parking lot, whatever. I love to watch my
kids pick out their own pumpkin and oooh! and ahh! with
excitement.
So, you've probably guessed our porch has like 30 pumpkins
on it.... as of yesterday =)

There's a church in town that has a magnificent display of
pumpkins (in their parking lot) but we don't care ;)

It's so much fun for the twins to pull around those little wagons!

This was our third trip for pumpking picking of some sort ;)
So, I had to be a little mindful of the amount of pumpkins
already given a home on our front porch.
I told each of them they could get one, maybe two. You can
see from the photo above how well that worked out.....

But we had a ton of fun!

And, because it wouldn't be any fun to post without a little scrappy
goodness .........

Here's a new American Crafts card, just in time for Halloween!

A little detail......
(that glitter cardstock is just yummy and super fun to play with)

Happy day! xoxo

( At the Patch )

Took a little trip.... and a hay ride ;)

... to a local pumpkin patch. It really doesn't get much better
than this during fall ...

... picking your own pumpkin, straight from the field.

And, getting this excited about it!
Drew, deciding he had found the PERFECT pumpkin =)

Ordinarily, this might be considered an outtake. But, I think I
kinda prefer the silly monster faces!

Can't wait for warm sweaters, spiced cider AND Halloween!
Just got their costumes .......... but, ssssshhhhh! It's a secret ;)
